New Alcohol Studies Give Another Reason to Drink Less
Quitting alcohol can be really beneficial to your body and well-being. Did you know the moderate drinker in the United States has 14 drinks or less each week? Or for a woman, 7 drinks or less.
A new study done in Hong Kong compared 100,000 drinkers and non-drinkers to the health data of people in the United States.
The average age of people in this study was 49 years old and 56% of them were women. About 64% of men were nondrinkers.
People who had never had a drop of alcohol were seen to have the highest level of mental well-being. Women who had consumed alcohol in the past then stopped, mentioned that stopping caused a favorable change in their mental health.
The Hong Kong researchers also stated that “Global alcohol consumption is expected to increase” in the years to come. They also suggested using caution when consuming alcohol. Drinking less than the moderate drinker can benefit your well-being in the long run.
