LAS VEGAS, NV - JULY 29: Singer Roger Daltrey of The Who performs on the first night of the band's residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on July 29, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada; JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA - DECEMBER 02: Eddie Vedder performs during the Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 at FNB Stadium on December 2, 2018 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The Who performed at London’s Wembley Stadium over the weekend, and their 24-song set featured two surprises.

First, Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend premiered “Hero Ground Zero,” a new song expected from their upcoming studio album. The song appears to still be a work in progress, because when they attempted to start the song, Townshend stopped and Daltrey said, “That was a c–k-up, innit? Told you it wasn’t finished, didn’t I?”

Later in the set, Eddie Vedder, who had opened for The Who as a special guest on the bill, joined the band on stage and performed the Quadrophenia track “The Punk and the Godfather.”

The second North American leg of The Who’s “Moving On!” tour kicks off September 1 in New York City. A full list of upcoming tour dates can be found at TheWho.com.
