LAS VEGAS, NV - JULY 29: Singer Roger Daltrey of The Who performs on the first night of the band's residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on July 29, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada; JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA - DECEMBER 02: Eddie Vedder performs during the Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 at FNB Stadium on December 2, 2018 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The Who performed at London’s Wembley Stadium over the weekend, and their 24-song set featured two surprises.

First, Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend premiered “Hero Ground Zero,” a new song expected from their upcoming studio album. The song appears to still be a work in progress, because when they attempted to start the song, Townshend stopped and Daltrey said, “That was a c–k-up, innit? Told you it wasn’t finished, didn’t I?”

Later in the set, Eddie Vedder, who had opened for The Who as a special guest on the bill, joined the band on stage and performed the¬†Quadrophenia¬†track “The Punk and the Godfather.”

The second North American leg of The Who’s “Moving On!” tour kicks off September 1 in New York City. A full list of upcoming tour dates can be found at
