Kim Kardashian has agreed to change the name of her shapewear line from Kimono Shapewear after a wave of backlash.

In a series of Tweets, she said: “My brands and products are built with inclusivity and diversity at their core and after careful thought and consideration, I will be launching my Solutionwear brand under a new name. I will be in touch soon. Thank you for your understanding and support always.”

Last week, Kardashian announced the launch of Kimono Shapewear, which she called “a new approach.”

After attempting to trademark the word, which is the name of a traditional Japanese cultural garment, Kardashian faced swift and intense backlash. By late week, the hashtag #KimOHNo began trending.

In a statement to The New York Times, she said: “I made the decision to name my company Kimono, not to disassociate the word from its Japanese roots but as a nod to the beauty and detail that goes into a garment.”

But by Monday, she had changed her tune, saying she so appreciated “the passion and varied perspectives that people bring to me,” and that she only launched Kimono Shapewear “with the best intentions in mind.”

No word yet on what the new name of the company will be.
