Attention Netflix customers: don’t be fooled by an email claiming to be from the streaming service.

According to the Solon Police Department, a new phishing scam aims to steal your personal information.

We talk about scams from time to time. Here's an example of an email phishing attempt that I received. (Biggest clue...

Posted by City of Solon, Ohio Police Department Government on Thursday, December 6, 2018

The email, which looks like it’s from Netflix, asks customers to update their information — And provides a link for them to do so.

Unfortunately, several customers have fallen for this and have had their credit card information stolen.

Several other variations of the email have since been sent, such as claiming the customer’s payment didn’t go through, and they need to update their billing information if they want to keep their subscription in good standing.

Another email stated that the customer’s subscription had been canceled after their payment failed.

All of these phishing scams are a good reminder that customers should never click on a link in an email.

If you have concerns about your account, login to your account directly, or contact Netflix by phone.
