TSA found a passenger trying to smuggle 70 Finches in hair rollers at John F. Kennedy airport in New York on Saturday. The Finches were “detained under quarantine” after the passenger was trying to get them into the United States from Guyana. The passenger was prohibited from entering the states but was able to cancel his paperwork for entry so that he could reapply later. He faced no other penalties or fines. Over the past 12-18 months, the TSA says they have seized over 200 finches. United States Customs and Border Protection spokesman, Anthony Bucci says that finch are used for gambling, people will bet on how many times a finch will chirp in a minute or which finch will chirp the loudest.
