U2’s Larry Mullen Jr., who celebrates a birthday today (October 31), often doesn’t get a lot of attention, but considering he’s the one who started U2 back in 1976 by posting a notice on the bulletin board of Mount Temple Comprehensive School, he certainly deserves a lot more.

Check out this clip of Larry and Bono sitting down for an interview on The Late Show with David Letterman.  Bono may get a lot of attention for being the frontman, but there is no mistake in who the leader of that band is if you pay attention to the interview.

Bonus:  We get to see how delightfully cheeky Larry is and hear about how Bono passed out in Frank Sinatra’s home movie theater.

Rock stars:  They’re just like us, aren’t they?!
