Def Leppard is celebrating a very important anniversary in the band’s history.
Joe Elliott took to the band’s social media to share photos from their very first gig that took place 40 years ago. Elliott detailed in the caption that their 50 minute set at Sheffield, England’s WestField School including an encore of Thin Lizzy’s “Jailbreak” and how they snuck in some beer to help “calm our nerves.”
In other Def Leppard news: The band recently covered Depeche Mode’s “Personal Jesus” as a B-side for their new Spotify Single. (The A-side was “Hysteria.”) They don’t stray too far from the original, but their version certainly packs an edgier punch thanks to the dueling guitars of Phil Collen and Vivian Campbell.
