This week, an AC/DC cover band garnered a lot of press in the rock world. Why? The entire band is made up of gay men, and they call themselves GAYC/DC.
They’ve also cleverly changed various songs in order fit they’re sexuality. (This writer’s personal favorite edit is changing “Problem Child” to “Bottom Child.”)
Honestly, it’s borderline brilliant.
Naturally, this led to recalling all of the other wonderful cover/tribute bands out there and their various hooks. Including the aforementioned GAYC/DC, here are nine unique cover/tribute bands.
GAYC/DC (AC/DC cover band comprised of gay men)
Red Hot Chili Pipers (Rock bagpipe cover band)
Lez Zeppelin (All-female Led Zeppelin cover band)
Vag Halen (All-female metal/hard rock band)
Faux Fighters (Foo Fighters cover band)
Oasish (Oasis tribute band)
The Misfats (Misfits tribute band made up of fat guys)
Earth, Wind, For Hire (Disco cover band)
Petty Theft (Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers tribute band)
