5 Killer AC/DC Songs Co-Written By Bon Scott
Everyone’s heard “Highway to Hell,” “TNT” and “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap,” but what about Bon Scott’s lesser known classics with AC/DC? In honor of his birthday, we take a look at five sometimes overlooked AC/DC tracks co-written by Bon Scott.
“Ain’t No Fun (Waiting ‘Round to Be a Millionaire)”
This track exemplifies the hustle and struggle of trying to make it. Think of it as the bluesy cousin of “It’s a Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘n’ Roll).

“Ride On”
The closest AC/DC has ever gotten to a ballad, this song from the Dirty Deeds… album just makes you ache. We can all relate to “another empty bottle and another empty bed.” Sometimes…a little too well.
“Go Down”
AC/DC have never exactly been subtle. What, oh what could they be talking about in songs like “Squealer,” “Touch Too Much” and “Sink The Pink?” Some bands like a side order of raunch, but for AC/DC, it’s the main course, and “Go Down”…well…you can figure it out.
“What’s Next to the Moon”
To me, choosing the most underappreciated song from 1978’s Powerage is like choosing my favorite beer. It’s too damn hard, and I love them all oh, so much! Truth be told, I could opine about that entire album to no end, but there’s something about the killer groove of “What’s Next to the Moon” that just stays with you.
“Jailbreak”
From it’s grizzly premise to its video, everything about “Jailbreak” is perfect. It was first featured on the Australian release of Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, but it finally received a proper release in the US, Canada and Japan on the 1984 EP ’74 Jailbreak. Better late than never.
