Coach Is Changing It’s Name!
PASADENA, CA - OCTOBER 15: Shoppers look at handbags in a shopping mall on October 15, 2008 in Pasadena, California. U.S. retail sales in September plummeted by the largest amount in three years, with the Commerce Department reporting that retail sales dropped 1.2 percent, almost twice the 0.7 percent drop that had been expected. It is the biggest decline since August 2005 when retail sales fell 1.4 percent. (Photo by David McNew/Getty Images)
According to Reuters, the luxury handbag maker has just acquired Kate Spade as well.
The company will now be known as Tapestry, and owns Coach, Stuart Weitzman, and Kate Spade & Co., and CEO Victor Luis said that the new name “speaks to creativity, craftsmanship, authenticity and inclusivity.”
Their stock name will also be changed from COH to TPR, but don’t worry, the purses will remain Coach because I’m pretty sure they can’t rebrand them to Tapestry. That would just be silly.
