High school can be a stressful time for a lot of students. Not only are you assigned with more homework, but you also have to worry about getting to class on time.

Learning key time management skills can be important during this phase of your life. Keeping a schedule can help you to prepare for college as well as reduce your stress and anxiety.

Here are 8 tips on how to set up your schedule for success in High school.

1.     Keeping a planner in your locker will help to keep you organized. If your school doesn’t give you one, we recommend either using the calendar on your phone or purchasing a paper planner. Target has some adorable planners that are sure to make you stylish.

2.     When writing in your planner, try to strictly use a pencil. This may sound like a silly technique but will ensure less of a mess when scratching out dates.

3.     As you are planning your schedule for the week, make sure to add in some study time. It is always better to study in small increments than to cram the night before! Plus too, since you have been preparing for a while, this schedule method will make you have less test anxiety.

4.     Make sure your study periods are for one subject only! If you need to study for more than one test or quiz, plan another space in your schedule. You do not want to feel rushed or confuse your material!

5.     While your purchasing your paper planner, try to buy different colored pens. For each subject you have in school, use a different color! This will help you remember and follow your schedule easier.

6.     Set up achievable schedule goals for your school year! Remember, you do not have a time turner!

7.     Staying organized will help you to feel less stressed. If you notice your key areas are getting a little messy, take the time to maintain your space.

8.     Lastly, try to get a much sleep and eat regularly. We know it is hard to do both especially with the added distractions of after school activities. However, these two aspects of your life are important to improving your brainpower!
