That seems like a super weird headline, no? But it’s true. According to an interview that was done with Michele Clapton, the costume designer for ‘Game of Thrones,’ A.V. Club shares that the costumes that the Night’s Watch wear, happen to be IKEA rugs that have been essentially destroyed.
You can hear the full interview here, but he says that they “We cut and we shaved them, and then we added strong leather straps and then breakdown, which is like a religion on Game Of Thrones.” It’s also noted that the rugs were “waxed and frosted,” and that other black scraps were added.
Well, now I know what I’m doing for my Halloween Costume.
