Selena Gomez Releases “Bad Liar” Video
And I have all sorts of questions.
First of all, while pulling this video, nobody seems to know what’s going on or has no explanation of what it’s supposed to mean.
Selena Gomez, in a 60’s/70’s era life, following what turns out to be her dad having an affair with the gym teacher that she seems to have a crush on herself, and avoiding her mom because she can’t face what’s going on – that’s the general plotline. Oh, and she plays her dad, her crush, and her mom, and herself, which had to take a lot of cuts and costume changes, and leaves very little room for continuity errors.
The other interesting thing – is that the end of the video notes that there’s more coming with the words “Fetish.”
When promoting the song’s video, she listed it as “Bad Liar” and “a film.” So one can only suggest that Selena’s next thing will be either an explanation to this video or another song called “Fetish” in which we revisit the weird longing for her gym teacher (which if Selena is going to have a bi-curious experience with herself, that will be really interesting). She also hasn’t released an album since 2015 – which could also be where she’s leading us to conspiracies.
Either way, we’re all for knowing what the heck is going on – or if this is one big elaborate confusion that leads to Selena being uncomfortable with how comfortable her boyfriend The Weeknd is with Lana Del Rey‘s 60’s/70’s vibes and tried to try it on for size herself.
