“Step Into Service” Grants From UnitedHealthcare

UnitedHealthcare is partnering for the fifth year with the nonprofit Youth Service America to give children the opportunity to get active while learning about childhood obesity. Grants of up to $1,000 will be awarded to youth-led programs that include both an activity element, in which kids count their steps, and a service component that provides direct service, enables advocacy to help eradicate childhood obesity or features youth philanthropy. Tailgating is not just for homecoming... it’s for home-going too! Be part of the DHA Tailgate Party at Delaware Humane Association in Wilmington, Saturday 9/29. This special dog adoption event will run from noon to 3 pm. Enjoy food and beverages, and meet some of our long-term canine residents who need forever homes. Yappy Hour Doggie Paddle Swim

It's the First Annual Yappy Hour Doggie Paddle Swim at the Christiana Hilton Wilmington/Christiana on Sunday, September 30th from 1-4 p.m. Dogs of all ages, shapes, and sizes are welcome to participate in a doggie swim in the outdoor pool! The afternoon festivities will include; a best swimsuit contest (for dogs only), activities for canines and their humans plus there will be raffles with prizes to be won.The entry fee is $10 for the first dog, $5 for each additional dog and humans are free. No reservations required. This is a rain or shine event.
