Hallelujah! Finally … some perfect days to be out with Piglet. It’s so nice not to have to bundle up from head to toe before hitting the roads … to not have to wear heavy gloves and heated liners … to be able to breathe in the warm air … and to not have my eyes water when I hit the posted MPH along my route to the station. Warm weather + Piglet = Yeah!
Sleepy-pie for Piglet
Piglet saw a lot more of the first 3 months of 2012 than this year. I’m not sure if this is a testament to how mild last Winter was … or an indication that I’m becoming more of a fair weather scooterer. I hope it’s not the latter. In any event, my precious Vespa has spent the better part of the last several months under roof, attached to a battery tender, which was a gift from my husband. A battery tender is a low-current battery charger intended to maintain the charge – without overcharging – while a vehicle is in extended storage. Since the Fall of 2007, Piglet has gone through 3 batteries, so I’ve gotten to the point where I keep her tendered anytime she’s under roof. It takes only a few seconds to connect and disconnect the leads, so it’s a not the least bit of an inconvenience, especially given the peace of mind knowing she’ll start right up when it’s time to hit the road.
